bedroom sunset

I never did make the bed this week and I have the photos to prove it.

Why do I crave hot lattes when it is already so hot outside?

My sunburned shoulders are morphing into freckles.

Two days of personal training sessions and two days of pilates reformer classes will make you sore.

I mean, you know you had a good workout when it hurts to lift chips with heaping amounts of queso...

Hope you have a lovely weekend!!

So she may be a little shabby at the moment.

BUT

with a lot of love and hard work.

She really could be a beauty.

Can  you see it?

Built in 1910.

On the market for $345,000

I hope she finds some one who will treat her right.

a breakfast story

Friday, August 19, 2011

Once upon a time there was a dog named Noah.

He believed that he was entitled to bits of everyone's breakfast...

even after he had eaten his own.

There was a stand off.

No one seemed to budge over sharing breakfast.

Noah tried tricks for a treat.

Sometimes looking cute and putting on a show can bring rewards,

or in this case, mom's breakfast.

Poor Noah.

Even after all of his efforts.

Breakfast is gone and none was shared.

So with a deep sigh and a pitiful pout.

He learned for a moment that he is not entitled to try everyone's breakfast.

So the moral of the story is this:

Don't pout because tomorrow there is always a chance there will be bacon for breakfast!

wine and cheese

Noah & Kerbey standing at the glass door pleading to come inside.  Noah just doesn't understand the concept of "outside toys."  It was getting dark & you can see the reflection of part of me as well as inside also...

Miss Kitty is whining outside to come in but it isn't time for dinner yet...

Noah looks like a total cheese ball in the photo above.

I am indulging in a glass of wine & truffle cheese with crackers.

I figure after graduating from visiting my Orthopedic Doctor yesterday,

I deserve a little pat on the back.

Oh

and I forgot to mention...

I did enjoy some chocolate mousse cheesecake for breakfast.

I'm just sayin'.

You have to pamper yourself every now and then.

1024 Bonham Terrace

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

The tree in the front yard is just aching to be climbed on!

The shutters and street appeal are fabulous.

Although, I'd probably paint the exterior.

Something neutral, maybe even white, with pops of color on the trim.

And that little front patio is perfect for coffee in the morning.

The interior is nice - nothing super that stands out.

But it still has wood floors and rounded archways.

And the farmhouse sink and stainless counters in the kitchen are appealing.

Oh and did you notice the archway above the tub in the bathroom - bonus!

Gotta love the large covered back porch too.

Listed for $499,900.

wither & fade

Josh has an atlas.

No Tom Tom.  No Navi.  No Google Maps.

Just the good ole' faded and torn pages of a Texas Roadside Atlas.

He loves finding back roads to take en route to a destination.

And I love going along for the ride.

(because although I like to think I'm good with directions - I do have a slight tendency to get distracted)

For instance...  did you see the little distraction above?

The old stones, worn interior, and overall atmosphere you witness while sitting in the windowsill.

The sun was beating down at 100 + degrees, but just sitting in the windowsill,

no A/C needed...

there was a great breeze through the windows and all was cool & quiet.

Although I will warn you.

Back road driving can come at a price...

We did get a flat tire.

BUT we survived without too many vultures circling above.

Hope Monday is being nice to you!

slow blur

Thursday, August 4, 2011

that fuzzy light in the morning.

the whir of the fan.

how soft the sheets feel when you don't want to get out of bed.

choosing to make it a good day.

no matter how hectic my mind makes it.

just taking some time to slow down.

those are the little things of this day.

A Serenade For Solitude

Thank you Cassie for hosting The Little Things.
Each Thursday I take a break & take notice of what really matters.
