Goodnight
First iPhone post.
Days are finally getting colder.
Breaking out the mittens & extra blankets.
More baking tomorrow - mini pumpkin pies & chocolate chip cookies with coconut flakes.
Sweet dreams for now!

hello november
chilly mornings are the perfect excuse to put on some winter gear.
sure I could just turn the heat up (and close the front door...)
but what fun would that be?
the dog wouldn't be able to chase squirrels,
and I wouldn't be able to put on mittens (equipped with a detachable mitt for typing), fuzzy slippers and a beanie with pom poms (which unfortunately you can't see in this photo).
my first selfie in polaroid style.
I got to use my gifted Tripod (thanks Kim for being SO awesome!!)
and realized that my arms are too short to really get into the focus that I had set.
so my first shot - blurry and over exposed.
but hey, there was good effort!
so I've got a shutter release cable on order.
thank you, Ebay.
the toys I get excited over these days...

I was sick for the first time in over a year the past few days.
feeling tons better now, but man, I hope I can go at least another year before getting sick again.

hello november.
glad you've decided to give me an excuse to bundle up!
wishing you all a cozy weekend!
walk with me
a little surprise visit to my grandparent's house in San Antonio.
a perfect fall day.
I brought Noah.
my sister and her dog, Bucky, joined us too.
and we took a leisurely stroll at a nearby trail.
it felt like vacation.
I was only able to visit for a few hours.
but these moments are forever.

happy weekend!

Just a little piece of sunshine wrapped up in a classic bungalow.
Anyone fancy a swing on that front porch?
I know I do.

a few of my favorite things
afternoon sunshine streaming in through the windows
long sleeves with thumb holes and ruffles
warm fuzzy slippers
yet another rose from Vivo
quotes about sunshine
little objects that hold a big place in my heart
snail mail and pretty stationary
practicing with new polaroid film

hope you have a weekend filled with a few of your favorite things!
falling for the seasons
I've figured out my favorite time of year is when you can feel the season starting to change.
It always makes me feel like I'm getting another chance to start fresh.
To take a step back and see if I like how my life is going.
Start fresh if I need to.
Change bits that need tweaking.
Or just make sure to smile more.

If you catch yourself in a reflection.
Smile.
I've been doing it all week for an assignment for my photo class.
You'd be amazed though, after the "I feel stupid phase wears off,"
how it can bring a little happy moment in your day.

Happy Weekend!
roots
did you know that dogs can have a root canal?
I never thought about it before,
but tomorrow morning, Noah's having a root canal.
poor puppy.
I let him play at doggie daycare today.
So hopefully it will make tomorrow not be so bad...
real fine practice needed
lately I've been learning more about multiple exposures on film.
this was the idea I had in my head when I saw this sign, "REAL FINE DOG," on South Congress.
so I took that shot, didn't advance the film, came home and took a shot of Noah on the same shot.
unfortunately, when I got my developed film back, there was just a faint image of Noah and it was hard to distinguish.
so I superimposed two images to get the result I was aiming for.
here is the original image... noah is just a faint "ghost appearance" in the bottom left corner.
can you even see him?
you can see the metal fence much better than Noah.
if you look above the flag on the bottom left, there is a faint outline of his face.
so I'm off to the store to buy more film.
looks like I need some more practice!!
light leaks
problems loading the film initially and this is the outcome.
warped, plenty of light leaks, and you can even see numbers from the back of the film on some.
still, I love not knowing what the outcome will be until the film is developed.

went out on town lake on monday to enjoy the sunshine and much needed escape.
it's amazing how even though you are downtown, when out on the water it all just slips away.

have a lovely weekend.

knock-out views of downtown
plus just a block away from South Congress Ave.
smitten over the little architectural details both exterior and interior.
I think it's those windows in the breakfast nook that really draw me to this house.
ahhh the light that room must get when sunlight streams in.
just had to dream a little today.
listed at $479,000.
