Give Me A Moment... Or Two

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Taking a break from work to showcase some film photos from Costa Rica in May.

I have to say that trip was the first trip I have really felt relaxed and able to unwind for a bit.

I didn't make any plans except to attend the National Park "Hike."

I practiced yoga and meditation.

Took lots of naps.

Enjoyed the gorgeous scenery.

Ate delicious food.

Spent time with great folks.

And had lots of time to daydream, sketch, and just be present.

So I'm bringing that practice home with me now.

It's another busy day - I have a "to do" list pretty long with lots of chicken scratch.

But I'm taking some time to just be.

Because that to do list will get done.

Just not at this very moment.

I am sad to say that I took two rolls of film but only one came out.

The other had my "dinosaur sighting" on it... so I bet that is why it didn't develop.

No one believes me anyway.

But I saw a huge lizard of some sort.

I can still see his eye staring me down... probably determining if I was lunch or not...

Oh well.

Guess my story goes with me to the grave.

Happy Wednesday.

May you find time to take a break no matter where you are or what you're doing.

Have A Seat

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

Spotted while driving down Shoal Creek Boulevard.

I didn't have my camera on me.

So we got home.

I got the polaroid.

Got in my car.

And went back to Shoal Creek Blvd to get the shot.

Film was still cold when I put it in the camera - not sure if that had anything to do with the tones.

Days are grey and rainy because of a tropical storm named Bill.

Can't say that I'm complaining.

Keeps the temperatures a little lower.

Ho Hum.

Not much else to say really.

Work is busy and I'm pooped.

Just wanted to document this cool ass chair sitting in a field of wildflowers.

Made my day.

Thursday Morning

Thursday, June 4, 2015

Ahhhh the lovely sounds of birds chirping and construction workers clanging...

Do they realize I still haven't had my cup o' coffee yet?

So the first two polaroids above show you just what it's like to deal with expired film.

If you look real closely you may see clouds.

If you use your imagination you may see clouds.

The last polaroid I used experimental film and it seems pretty normal-ish.

If you see something other than a fence, morning light and shadows, and leaves.

I'm not sure what you are experimenting with...

But will you share?

Random quote of the week from two guys working behind the counter at a local restaurant:

"I used to race you to the playground everyday, and beat you every time!"

Just made me smile.

So the blue skies and beginning of summer are begging me to shirk my duties and go play.

Seriously considering it...

After I do the dishes and make the bed.

I'll race you to the playground (and I bet you'll win)
